Sesame , a conventional variety was added to the Recommended List for E & W as the highest gross output variety some 13% above Castille . Sound agronomics with a 4 for maturity Sesane is forecast to take a major market share in Autumn 2011 plantings

The highest yielding variety on the 2009 HGCA Recommended List for the northern region. Exceptional gross output in the northern region where it`s the obvious choice for all growers (except where club root is present). In the south, Catana is an ideal partner variety for Castille, with higher gross output potential enhanced by its 45.1% oil content. Catana has excellent autumn vigour to aid establishment. Currently the highest gross output candidate in the Recommended List trial, this variety is believed by the breeder to be the natural successor to Castille. 46.3% oil content, massive seed yield and sound agronomics give it the highest merit score ever recorded.
DK Cabernet is 12% higher for gross output than Castille.

Newly added to the HGCA Recommended List, this is the highest gross output conventional variety on for the southern region. It is a medium height, with stiff straw and an upright canopy at harvest. It has high oil content and superb resistance to both light leaf spot and Phoma (stem canker).

A new conventional variety currently in National List 1 in the UK. It`s performing exceptionally well in all official trials in Europe. Seed yield is the same as Vision but it has a much higher oil content.
NK Grandia is short-strawed with high resistance to lodging. It has early flowering and maturity dates along with excellent disease ratings. Available in very limited quantities.

Dimension is the first of a new generation of hybrids from the breeder of Flash and Lioness. It has been newly added to the 2009/10 HGCA Recommended List. Dimension combines the yield potential of Flash with an ultra high oil content of 45.6%. Shorter and stiffer than some other hybrids with excellent disease resistance. The ideal partner variety to Excalibur.
Available with Cruiser OSR seed treatment to give protection against turnip yellows virus and downy mildew, as well as the usual control of cabbage stem flea beetle.

Compass a fully restored hybrid was added to the Recommended List in 2010/11 for E & W + N. Big yields , big oil content + excellent Autumn vigour. It has the highest score for stem stiffness(8) and above average resistance to lodging(8) . Medium maturity score of 5

This has taken the market share for hybrid varieties to new levels, as it combines high yield with outstanding vigour and unique early maturity - not to mention much improved disease resistance. Whilst not a low biomass variety, Excalibur does combine shorter straw than most hybrids with good stem stiffness.

Thorin - a new semi-dwarf hybrid - currently in trial. Figures to date show that Thorin has a gross output 6% over Castille with an oil content of 45.9%. As expected its is unlodgeable and has good disease resistance and medium maturity.
