Openfield provides growers with access to high quality seed, from varieties that have been specifically targeted to meet our end users` needs.
Our relationships with the leading plant breeders often give us access to varieties three years prior to HGCA Recommendation.
- This allows us to test them with our partner agronomy business, Agrovista
- We can therefore take new material to processors at the earliest possible stage to prime the market
- As a result, our growers benefit from our early knowledge of how best to grow the new varieties and the security that these selections are appropriate for local or national markets
Most seed is processed in the UK`s most modern seed plant, based at our Colsterworth HQ in Lincs. Scottish growers benefit from our relationship with Caledonian Seeds, based at Alford, near Aberdeen. Both supply seed of the highest quality to UK farmers, in combination with the most comprehensive seed treatment options available.
