Openfield is seeking Farm Business Managers to join our team across multiple regions, including the South, East, Midlands, North, and West.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with a strong interest in agriculture who is keen to develop a commercial career within the UK’s leading arable farmer-owned co-operative.
A background in sales is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will play a key role within the team, working closely with our farmer members and internal colleagues to grow Openfield.

· Sound commercial awareness and business acumen

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
· High levels of initiative, with strong planning and organisational skills
· Personal ambition, resilience, and tenacity to succeed in a sales-focused role
· A FACTS qualification (advantageous but not essential).
The Role
As a Farm Business Manager, your responsibilities will include:
· Developing a comprehensive knowledge of Openfield’s products and services
· Promoting, managing, and growing Openfield with existing and new members
· Maintaining a strong understanding of grain markets and advising members on appropriate risk management strategies
· Purchasing grain, oilseeds, rapeseed, and pulses from farmer members, including agreeing terms for grain storage and handling where required
· Advising on and selling seed, fertilisers, and other inputs and services, while identifying new sales opportunities
· Building strong working relationships with experienced commercial managers to develop both technical and commercial expertise
· Working closely with colleagues to identify opportunities, support joint working, and strengthen member relationships
· Actively prospecting for new members and business opportunities.

Roles and Responsibilities as a Seed Plant Operative:
• Filling and packing seed orders as they come in
• Ensuring the Seed Plant is cleaned down between varieties
• General warehouse work.
Who are we looking for?
• Availability from mid-July to mid/end September 2026 (possibly into October depending upon harvest)
• Able to work flexible hours as part of a team
• Good communication with a positive attitude and approach to learning new skills
• Forklift truck driving license would be of benefit but not a necessity.
